You’ve all heard of drinking games. This one’s different.
Trip Guide is a no competitive experience deck created by The Harm Reduction Project for moments when the vibe needs a gentle nudge.
Instead of rules, it offers invitations. Instead of outcomes, it creates space.
To begin, one person becomes the Guide. The Guide holds the deck, draws the cards, and reads them out loud. Everyone else participates however they want by listening, responding, moving, staying quiet, or passing entirely. Talking is optional. Movement is optional. Silence is welcome.
Each card belongs to one of four categories:
• Mode – shifts how the moment is approached
• Interaction – invites connection, reflection, or play
• Perspective – gently reframes what’s being noticed
• Mischief – light, optional disruptions that stay kind
To play:
1. The Guide draws a card
2. The Guide reads it out loud
3. Everyone notices what happens
4. Stop anytime
The Guide sets the pace, but does not explain or interpret the cards. There is no winning. There is no correct way. Pauses count as play. Laughter counts. Doing nothing counts.
Solo play is welcome.
Trip Guide is designed to play nicely with altered states, but it does not require them. It works just as well around a table, at a gathering, alone, or in quiet moments where curiosity feels safer than structure.
When the cards stop being useful, put them away.
